This morning, a friend sent me a photo of a T-shirt I made for him.
I thought it was about ten years old. He corrected me.
Twenty years.
He still wears it about once a month. He wears it hard and washes it like everything else. And it holds up.
He says it is still comfortable.
The T-shirt was part of TO, a project I started many years ago, followed by shirts, chinos, vests, tailored suits and headwear: flat caps, newsboy caps, bucket hats.
I still have photographs from that period. Not so much because of what I made, but because of what has remained.
A twenty-year-old T-shirt, still being worn, is a pretty good reminder.
